WORKSHOP TERMS & CONDITIONS
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between Layman Coffee Pte. Ltd. (UEN: 202515929C) (“Layman Coffee”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) and the participant (“Participant”, “you” or “your”) in relation to your attendance at and participation in any coffee-related workshop, course, or session (“Workshop”) conducted by Layman Coffee.
By registering for or attending any Workshop, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not register or attend the Workshop.
1. DEFINITIONS
For the purpose of these Terms:
- “Materials” refers to all workshop content, printed handouts, digital files, visual aids, presentations, trade secrets, demonstrations, techniques, lesson outlines, and all related documentation, whether in soft or hard copy.
- “IP” refers to all intellectual property rights as defined under Singapore law, including copyrights, trademarks, service marks, trade dress, proprietary techniques, know-how, and related goodwill.
2. REGISTRATION & PAYMENT
2.1 Full payment must be made to confirm participation in the Workshop. Participation is strictly on a first-paid, first-confirmed basis.
2.2 For private or corporate Workshops, a non-refundable deposit of fifty percent (50%) of the total fee is required upon confirmation.
2.3 All Workshop fees are inclusive of materials and tools provided for use during the session, unless otherwise stated.
3. CANCELLATIONS, RESCHEDULING, AND NO-SHOWS
3.1 Participants may cancel or reschedule their attendance in a public Workshop as follows:
- Cancellation more than five (5) working days prior to Workshop: Full refund or one-time complimentary rescheduling.
- Cancellation less than five (5) working days or no-show: No refund or rescheduling.
3.2 For private or corporate bookings, all changes must be submitted in writing at least ten (10) working days prior to the scheduled Workshop and are subject to Layman Coffee’s availability.
- Cancellation more than ten (10) working days prior to Workshop: Full refund or one-time complimentary rescheduling.
- Cancellation less than ten (10) working days or no-show: As ingredients and perishables are procured in advance, a food wastage fee based on the minimum chargeable participant count will apply regardless of actual expected attendance.
3.3 Layman Coffee reserves the right to cancel or postpone any Workshop for any reason including but not limited to trainer illness, low participation numbers, or force majeure events. In such cases, Participants shall be entitled to a full refund or rescheduling at no additional cost. Layman Coffee shall not be liable for any ancillary costs incurred.
4. CODE OF CONDUCT & SAFETY GUIDELINES
4.1 Participants are expected to conduct themselves respectfully and responsibly at all times. Layman Coffee reserves the right to remove, without refund, any Participant who:
- Behaves in a disruptive, inappropriate, or unsafe manner;
- Fails to follow instructions regarding the safe use of equipment or ingredients;
- Harasses, threatens, or endangers others.
4.2 Participants must adhere to all health and safety guidelines provided by Layman Coffee during the Workshop. Participation involves inherent risks including, but not limited to, exposure to hot liquids, steam, heated surfaces, and allergens. By attending, Participants acknowledge and voluntarily assume all such risks.
4.3 Late arrival of more than fifteen (15) minutes may result in denial of entry, and no refund shall be provided.
5. MEDIA RIGHTS & CONSENT
5.1 Participants acknowledge that Layman Coffee may capture photographs, audio, or video recordings during the Workshop for promotional and commercial purposes.
5.2 By attending the Workshop, you grant Layman Coffee a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual licence to use such media in all forms, including but not limited to social media, advertisements, and other marketing collateral.
5.3 Participants who do not wish to be photographed or recorded must notify Layman Coffee in writing prior to the commencement of the Workshop.
6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & NON-DISCLOSURE
6.1 All Materials, methodologies, Workshop content, and any other IP provided or demonstrated are and remain the exclusive property of Layman Coffee.
6.2 Participants shall not copy, record, photograph, duplicate, distribute, modify, recreate, adapt, resell, teach, or share any part of the Materials, whether in part or in full, without the express prior written consent of Layman Coffee.
6.3 Participants further agree not to disseminate any content or Materials to any third party, business entity, or individual which may reasonably be interpreted as competitive in nature.
6.4 Any false or misleading representation, whether direct or indirect, suggesting that Layman Coffee copied or derived its content from another business or party, may constitute defamation or misrepresentation. Layman Coffee reserves the right to pursue civil or criminal remedies under applicable law.
7. BREWING LICENSE & BIY PROGRAM (If Applicable)
7.1 Certain Workshops may confer a Layman Brewing License, permitting qualified Participants to return for Brew-It-Yourself (BIY) sessions during designated periods.
7.2 The Brewing License is non-transferable, non-refundable, and subject to availability.
7.3 Layman Coffee reserves the right to revoke or suspend BIY access for any breach of safety, hygiene, or conduct guidelines.
8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
8.1 To the maximum extent permitted under Singapore law, Layman Coffee shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to bodily injury, property damage, loss of personal belongings, allergic reactions, or business interruption arising from or in connection with participation in the Workshop.
8.2 Layman Coffee makes no warranties or guarantees, express or implied, regarding the outcome, skills acquired, or commercial application of any training provided.
9. GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
10. AMENDMENTS
Layman Coffee reserves the right to modify or update these Terms at any time without prior notice. Continued participation in the Workshop following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
